Announcement of the 2025 Kaohsiung Film Festival XR Competition Nominees
The 2025 TTXC (Taiwan Technology X Culture Expo) Kaohsiung Film Festival will take place from October 10 (Friday) to October 26 (Sunday). The nominees for the XR Competition have been officially revealed, featuring 23 XR experiences from 13 countries competing for the prestigious XR Golden Fireball Award, XR Immersive Experience Award, VR360 Narrative Award, and Special Jury Mention Award.
Taiwan proudly presents five nominated works, including the Kaohsiung VR Film Lab Original The Clouds Are Two Thousand Meters Up directed by Singing CHEN, who previously won the Best Immersive Experience Award at the Venice Immersive Competition. The festival promises an extraordinary showcase of XR productions from both local and international creators, offering audiences an unforgettable immersive journey.
This year’s entries include interactive installations, advanced tracking technologies, innovative animation aesthetics, and fluid blends of abstraction and realism. Notably, several Taiwanese entries explore rare large-scale Location-Based Experiences (LBE), showcasing both bold experimentation and growing technical mastery.
