Every Day in Kaimuki

Nominees and Awards

Synopsis

This first feature by native Hawaiian writer/director Alika TENGAN tells the story of Naz, a late night DJ at a community radio station and avid skateboarder as he navigates the complexities of leaving his simple but unfulfilling life in Kaimukī for New York City with his girlfriend, Sloane. What follows is a kaleidoscopic, seriocomic portrayal of the millennial malaise that comes with attempting to reconcile his dreams to his reality.
